FARMINGDALE — One person was injured Tuesday when a car rear-ended a box truck on Maine Avenue.

Lynn St. Amand, 39, of Winthrop, was taken by ambulance to MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta with complaints of pain after her car hit the truck in front of J&S Oil. The truck driver, 51-year-old Gerald Partridge of Litchfield, was not injured.

The crash occurred around 11 a.m. as Partridge’s 2011 Ford box truck was stopped in traffic behind a car waiting to make a left turn, said Trooper James Leonard, of the Maine State Police. St. Amand, who had been following Partridge’s truck, failed to stop and hit it from behind.

“She got distracted by something,” Leonard said.

No charges are being filed in connection with the crash.

Leonard said traffic was reduced to one lane but continued to flow as emergency crews worked at the crash scene.
