AUBURN — Fire has restored an old church that had been converted into a home in the Maine town of Auburn.

The occupant of the residence was not home at the time and no injuries were reported.

The was reported Friday evening. When firefighters arrived the building was fully engulfed in flames.

Fire officials say the building, its contents, and nearby vehicles were destroyed.

Authorities say the fire is under investigation but it may be difficult to determine the cause because of the extensive damage to the building.
