AUGUSTA — Kennebec Savings Bank recently announced that the loan operations department at its main office in Augusta will be lead by a former employee of The Bank of Maine.

Tamara Hillman-Tardiff, of Manchester, was hired as a loan operations officer after working at The Bank of Maine for 26 years.

Craig Garofalo, vice president and senior operations officer of Kennebec Savings Bank, announced the hiring in a release sent Monday by the bank.

“Tamara is a perfect fit here at KSB,” Garofalo said in the release. “She is local, very experienced in her field and committed to a level of excellence that we strive for here at the bank.”

Hillman-Tardiff was born in Bangor and raised in Gardiner, according to the release. She earned an associate degree and bachelor’s degree from the University of Maine at Augusta before getting her master’s degree in business administration from Husson College in Bangor.

Kennebec Savings Bank is a $797 million state-chartered mutual savings bank with a team of 106 employees and full service banking offices in Augusta, Farmingdale, Waterville and Winthrop, and two free-standing 24-hour electronic banking centers in Augusta and Manchester, according to the release.
