Richmond police seek

information on bicycle bandit

RICHMOND — Police are looking for a bicycle bandit after reports of a pair of break-ins on New Road this week.

Police Chief Scott MacMaster said his department is investigating two daytime burglaries that occurred Monday morning.

“We also have information that the suspect may have left the area on a stolen mountain bike,” MacMaster said in a news release. Police believe the burglar could be wearing a backpack, which also was stolen.

Augusta

Monday: At 6:01 p.m., an assault was reported on Hope Way.

8:21 p.m., there was a traffic complaint on Bangor Street.

8:49 p.m., a hit-and-run accident was reported on Western Avenue.

9:03 p.m., a 46-year-old Augusta woman was charged with theft by police responding to a shoplifting complaint at Cumberland Farms on Mount Vernon Avenue.

9:07 p.m., theft was reported on Northern Avenue.

9:12 p.m., disorderly conduct was reported on Northern Avenue.

9:15 p.m., there was a traffic complaint on Mud Mill Road.

Tuesday: At 7:32 a.m., firefighters responded to an alarm at Maine State Credit Union on Capitol Street.

9:06 a.m., trespassing was reported at Gilbert School on Sunset Avenue.

9:12 a.m., a hit-and-run accident was reported on Crossing Way.

11:34 a.m., shoplifting was reported at Walmart off Civic Center Drive.

1:22 p.m., there was an accident on Capitol Street.

2:52 p.m., there was an accident at the intersection of Cony Road and Eastern Avenue.

3:02 p.m., there was a traffic complaint on Civic Center Drive.

3:04 p.m., trespassing was reported on Cony Street.

3:18 p.m., a domestic disturbance was reported on Northern Avenue.

Sunday: State police and the Maine Warden Service responded to a report of underage drinking on Long Pond.

Chelsea

Jan. 26: Brett Moran, 33, of Randolph, was charged with operating under the influence by police responding to a two-vehicle crash on Togus Road.

Jan. 27: A 35-year-old man was charged with operating after suspension.

China

Jan. 28: A 28-year-old man was charged with theft by police responding to a report of theft at the Hannaford supermarket on Hannaford Drive.

Jan. 29: A 42-year-old man was charged with operating a vehicle with a registration that expired in 2012 and operating with a driver’s license that expired more than 90 days earlier during a traffic stop for speeding on Route 3.

A 35-year-old man was charged with operating after revocation during a traffic stop on U.S. Route 202.

Monday: 1:46 p.m., there was a report of shoplifting on Route 3.

Friday: A 21-year-old man was charged with possession of a usable amount of marijuana during a traffic stop for a registration violation on Interstate 295.

Thursday: A 25-year-old woman was charged with operating after suspension during a traffic stop for speeding on Route 126.

A 16-year-old girl with an intermediate driver’s license was issued several citations, including operating beyond license restrictions for carrying a passenger, failure to wear a seat belt and operating a vehicle with an expired registration during a traffic stop on Route 126.

Randolph

Jan. 27: A 43-year-old Gardiner woman was charged with operating with a driver’s license expired more than 90 days during a traffic stop for a vehicle defect on Water Street.

Monday: At 5:19 p.m., an alarm sounded on School Street.

West Gardiner

Jan. 29: A 46-year-old man was charged with operating with a registration expired more than 150 days and altering registration during a traffic stop for an expired inspection sticker on Interstate 295.

A 26-year-old woman was charged with possession of a usable amount of marijuana after police reportedly found the drug tucked inside a mitten during a traffic stop on Interstate 295.

Whitefield

Saturday: Police investigated a report of $1,200 stolen from a vehicle parked at St. Denis Church on Grand Army Road.

Windsor

Jan. 29: A 43-year-old woman was charged with forgery and theft by police responding to a report by a Pine Ridge Road resident of money stolen from a checking account.

9:48 a.m., Alexander Arthur Meserve, 20, of Augusta, was arrested on a charge of violating conditions of release by police responding to a report of a disturbance at MaineGeneral Medical Center on Medical Center Parkway.

Chelsea

Saturday: Reginald Chabot, 53, of Chelsea, was arrested on a charge of domestic violence assault by police responding to a complaint on Collins Road.

Dresden

Thursday: Karen D. Harrington, 27, of Dresden, was arrested on a charge of violating conditions of release on Calls Hill Road.

Thursday: Wesley Glidden, 30, of Jefferson, was arrested on charges of burglary, stealing drugs, violating conditions of release, theft by unauthorized taking or transfer and theft by deception on Rockland Road.

Saturday: Regina C. Stewart, 27, of Jefferson, was arrested on a charge of violating conditions of release on Washington Road.

Saturday: Melissa Massie, 37, and her boyfriend, Theodore Barry, were arrested by police investigating a report of assault and threatening that occurred Jan. 28 on Brock Road. Massie was charged with assault and criminal trespass and Barry was charged with criminal threatening and violating conditions of release.

Thursday: Wyatt Wilson, 36, of Whitefield, was arrested on a charge of violating conditions of release on Maple Lane.
