Trio assaults, robsman in Augusta
AUGUSTA — Police are searching for two men and a woman who assaulted and robbed a man on Northern Avenue at about 8:30 p.m. Saturday.
The victim, a 36-year-old Augusta resident, had the suspects in his car. Sgt. Christian Behr said the victim was familiar with the woman but not the men.
When the victim let the suspects out of his car on Northern Avenue, near Kendall Street, one of them struck him in the face with a beer bottle, and they stole a small amount of cash from his pockets and fled.
The victim, who Behr said might have suffered broken bones or a concussion, was taken to MaineGeneral Medical Center.
The police talked with people in the neighborhood. They also used a dog to try to track the suspects but could not find them. The two men are white, in their late 20s or early 30s, and were wearing hooded sweatshirts. The woman is white and has blond hair, Behr said.
Behr asked that anyone who might have information about the robbery call the Augusta police at 626-2370.
