BANGOR — Sophie Weckstrom scored 16 points and Liz Wood added 13 as the University of Maine women’s basketball team sank Binghamton 65-53 in an America East game at the Cross Center.

Chantal Charles chipped in with eight points for the Black Bears (13-11, 7-4 in America East), who led 33-18 at the half.

Sherae Swinson scored 13 points to pace Binghamton (4-20, 1-10).

High school hockey

LAWRENCE/SKOWHEGAN 6, CONY/MONMOUTH 5: Trey Michonski scored with 1 minute, 34 seconds left in overtime to lift the Bandits to the Eastern A victory at the Bank of Maine Ice Vault on Saturday night.

Chase Nelson scored a hat trick, including a short-handed goal in the final three minutes to tie the game, for Lawrence/Skowhegan (9-5-0). Sam Haver and Cody Martin also scored goals while Sam Edmundson had 28 saves for Lawrence/Skowhegan.

Drew Keithley led Cony/Monmouth (8-7) with two goals, while Spencer Buck, Aaron Manter and Austin Davis each added a goal.

MESSALONSKEE 8, WINSLOW 0: Chase Cunningham scored four goals to lead Messalomnskee to the Clas B win over Winslow at Sukee Arena on Saturday. Dylan Burton, Josh Towle, Jake Dexter and Kalib Bernatchez each added a goal for the Eagles while Jared Cunningham contributed three assists. Andrew Beals made 36 saves in goal for Winslow (8-7-0) while Ben Weeks made 23 stops for Messalonskee (14-0-0).
