GRAY — Police say a New Gloucester man is facing charges after allegedly causing a car crash that injured four people then fleeing the scene on foot.

Police on Monday charged 34-year-old Jeffrey Casey with driving to endanger and leaving the scene of an accident.

Investigators tell the Sun Journal that Casey was driving on Mayall Road in Gray at around 5:45 p.m. Sunday when he turned onto Route 100 into the path of a vehicle driven by 32-year-old Joshua Robbinson.

Robbinson attempted to avoid the collision but could not.

Casey’s car struck a utility pole, and Casey fled on foot. A police dog found him later.

Robbinson, his wife and two young children were taken to a hospital with neck and back injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
