Two Ellsworth residents were arrested Thursday after agents from the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency raided their residence as part of a heroin distribution investigation.

Justin Pinkham, 24, and Logan Hanson, both of 857 Bucksport Road, were each charged with trafficking in heroin and violating conditions of their release in prior cases.

Agents who executed a search warrant at their home seized about 10 grams of heroin, $1,200 in cash and about 116 grams of marijuana, the MDEA said in a press release issued Friday afternoon.

Both Pinkham and Hanson were taken to Hancock County Jail. Hanson’s bail was set at $500. Pinkham was ordered held without bail due to a prior pending case against him for a charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm.

MDEA agents were assisted in the case by officers of the Ellsworth Police Department and deputies from the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department.
