AUGUSTA — A brief power outage caused some in Augusta to lose power this afternoon.
The electricity went out around 2:30 p.m. and remained out for about an hour, according to a Central Maine Power Co. official.
A piece of equipment failed at a substation in Augusta, causing the outage, which affected 3,638 CMP accounts, the official said.
The power outage also caused alarms to be triggered in some Marketplace at Augusta stores, according to emergency radio traffic.
