AUGUSTA — A Monmouth man was sentenced Tuesday to five years in jail, with all but six months suspended, and two years’ probation for possession of sexually explicit materials depicting a child under 12.

Carroll Edwin Cooper Jr., 52, had pleaded guilty in October to the offense, which occurred April 3, 2012, in Monmouth. The sentencing was held Tuesday in Kennebec County Superior Court.

Conditions of probation ban Cooper from possessing electronic devices that can access the Internet and from unsupervised contact with children under 16.

A number of other people were sentenced Tuesday in separate hearings in Kennebec County Superior Court:

• James Barnes Jr., 50, of South China, operating after habitual-offender revocation and operating under the influence Dec. 5, 2013, in Augusta; five-year jail sentence, all but four months suspended, two years’ probation, $1,600 fine, three-year license and registration suspension.

• Sarah R. Blaisdell, 32, of Rome, unlawful possession of oxycodone June 26, 2013, in Mount Vernon; $400 fine.

• Shawn Breton, 38, of South China, terrorizing Aug. 22, 2012, in Augusta; 364-day jail sentence, all but 146 days suspended, one-year administrative release.

• Derrick R. Cram, 32, of Clinton, domestic violence assault Dec. 29, 2013, in Clinton; three-year jail sentence, all but nine months suspended, two years’ probation.

• Carolyn Delgado, 23, of Waterville assault Nov. 10, 2013, in Waterville; 14-day jail sentence.

• Ty Donahue Beard, 36, of Fairfield, theft by unauthorized taking or transfer and misuse of identification Aug. 1, 2013, in China; two-year jail sentence, all but 90 days suspended, two years’ probation, $1,503.95 restitution.

• Nicholas S. Dudley, of Vassalboro and Augusta, four counts of theft by unauthorized taking or transfer and onc count each of burglary of a motor vehicle and misuse of identification Sept. 18 to Oct.9, 2013, in Augusta, China and Waterville; 18-month prison senence, $1,234.91 restitution.

• Jonathan T. Flood, 23, of Farmingdale, domestic violence assault and violating condition of release Feb. 2 in Augsuta; 90-day jail sentence.

• Timothy Godin, 21, of Belgrade, theft by unauthorized taking or transfer Aug. 1, 2013, in Belgrade; 30-day jail sentence, $250 restitution.

• Ashley Grazioso, 21, of Augusta, three counts of theft by unauthorized taking or transfer, two counts of criminal trespass and one count each of burglary of a motor vehicle Oct. 13, 2013, in Augusta; three-year jail sentence, all but 10 days suspended, two years’ probation; $130.65 restitution.

• Nickolas Grivois, 25, of Augusta, operating after habitual-offender revocation Dec. 1, 2013, in Augusta; 60-day jail sentence, $750 fine.

• Douglas Hanson, 38, of Oakland, violating condition of release, operating while license suspended or revoked and attaching false plates Aug. 20, 2013, in Winslow; 24-hour jail sentence, $350 fine.

• Ericka F. Lagasse, 31, of Oakland, theft by unauthorized taking or transfer Dec. 24, 2013, in Waterville; five-day jail sentence, $500 fine, $120 restitution.

• Lisa Lee, 38, of Winslow, unlawful possession of oxycodone and operating while license suspended or revoked Sept. 22, 2013, in Winslow; 364-day jail sentence, all suspended, one-year probation, $650 fine.

• Larry W. Morgan Jr., 31, of West Gardiner, assault Nov. 27, 2013, in Augustas; $300 fine, restitution up to $1,000.

• Nadine Mary Rose Rechichi, 20, of Kingsley, Australia, operating under the influence and operating a vehicle without a license March 2, 2013, in Waterville; $500 fine, 90-day license suspension.

• Jason A. Stephenson, 38, of Waterville, unlawful possession of scheduled drug, violation of sex offender registration act, falsifying physical evidence, and two counts of violating conditions of release, Sept. 6-10, 2013, in Waterville; five-day jail sentence, $400 fine.

• Beverly A. Visnick, 34, of Oakland, theft by unauthorized taking or transfer Dec. 19, 2012 to Feb. 4, 2013, in Waterville; $300 fine, $2,506.31 restitution.

• Troy Welch, 37, of Waterville, operating after habitual offender revocation Oct. 8, 2013, in Waterville; 30-day jail sentence, $500 fine.

• William L. Wilkinson, 26, of Augusta, theft by deception and misuse of identification April 2012 in Winthrop; 30-day jail sentence, credit for time served, $2,336.30 restitution.
