LAWRENCE, Mass. — A Haverhill man is dead after the car he was driving rolled over in Lawrence, causing a truck from Maine to hit it.

State police say 55-year-old Carlos Cunha was ejected from the vehicle before a tractor-trailer struck it after it came to rest on northbound lanes of Interstate 495 shortly before 2 a.m. Saturday.

Cunha was pronounced dead at the scene.

The truck driver, 50-year-old John Furman of Danville, N.H., was not injured. He was operating a vehicle owned by Left Lane Trucking LLC, of Dayton, Maine.

Authorities are investigating the remaining facts and circumstances of the crash.
