SOUTH PARIS — The Cony softball team scored two runs in the top of the eighth and then held on to edge Oxford Hills 2-0 in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class A game Monday afternoon.

Alyssah Dennett led off the eighth with a single then advanced to third an Olivia Deeves bunt. Dennett took third and then scored on an overthrow. Arika Brochu doubled and scored on a base hitt by Maggie Russell for the Rams (7-1).

Brochu struck out 13 to earn the victory. She allowed just one hit.

Oxford Hills dropped to 5-1.

MCI 11, ERSKINE 1: Brianna Losee and Paige Topel each homered to lead the Huskies to the KVAC B win in Pittsfield.

Mikayla Carr added three singles for MCI (3-5) while Jody Bickford had two.

Taylor Boucher and Mackenzie Gayer each had two singles for Erskine (2-6).

OAK HILL 16, BOOTHBAY 2, 5 innings: Brooke Surette hit a two-run triple and Sadie Goulet went 2 for 3 with three RBIs to lead the Raiders to the Mountain Valley Conference win in Boothbay.

Lauren Beganny struck out eight and allowed just one hit to earn the victory for Oak Hill (5-4).

Brenna Alley had the lone hit for Boothbay (0-7), a single in the fifth.

BREWER 4, MESSALONSKEE 3: Kylee Knight had a double and a single and Kristen Pelletier pitched a complete game but it wasn’t enough for the Eagles in a KVAC A loss in Brewer.

Sam Pallegrind had a double and Meg Davis added two singles for the Witches (5-3).

Cassie Baker and Kelsey Dillon each had a pair of hits for Messalonskee (4-3).

HALL-DALE 14, ST. DOM’S 0, 5 innings: Becca Ackerson allowed one hit and struck out seven batters to lead the Bulldogs to an MVC win in Farmingdale.

Ackerson added a triple at the plate for Hall-Dale (6-2), while Morgan Rush and Kayla Johnson each had a double.

St. Dom’s falls to 1-6.

MONMOUTH 2, WINTHROP 0: Paxton Lessard allowed four hits and struck out 11 to lead the Mustangs to the MVC win in Winthrop. Corrie Meehan led the winners with two hits, including an RBI single in the fourth while Kristen Kemp singled home a run in the sixth. For Winthrop, Lilly Ouellette singled twice and pitcher Krissy Doughty struck out seven. Monmouth is 5-2.

GARDINER 13, MARANACOOK 4: Morgan Carver drove in five runs with two doubles and two singles to lead the Tigers to the KVAC B win in Readfield. Bri Brochu added two singles, a double and a triple for Gardiner (8-0) while winning pitcher Kristal Smith singled twice and drove in three runs.

Amber Ridlon and Lindsay Jackson each singled and doubled for Maranacook (4-4).
