Are we now seeing another budding Francis Urquhart? Political ambitions unleashed? Sen. Angus King has decided to endorse Sen. Susan Collins for another six years in the Senate.
I believe Collins has manipulated the press into being seen as a “moderate” Republican, but if we look at her voting record, we see that she votes with the Republican Party more than 90 percent of the time, and voted to confirm both Supreme Court justices John Roberts and Samuel Alito — nothing “moderate” in that.
King’s alliance with Collins smacks of the latter’s alliance with Sen. Joe Lieberman. It may be good for King, but what bad judgment for the citizens of Maine.
