BATH — Gardiner banged out 17 hits while Brittany Rollins pitched a two-hit shutout in a 10-0 win against Morse in Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class B softball action Friday.

Morgan Carver drove in four runs with two doubles and a single while Lilly Chepke also doubled twice and singled, Lauren Chadwick added a double and single for the Tigers and Rollins had three singles. Rollins struck out 13 and walked one in running her record to 7-0. Gardiner is 14-0, Morse is 3-12.

MADISON 8, OAK HILL 0: Emily McKenney tossed a four-hit shutout and drove in four runs as the Bulldogs won the Mountain Valley Conference game in Wales.

McKenney and Kirsten Wood each had three hits for Madison (15-1). McKenney struck out eight batters.

Emma Hlister threw out two runners stealing for Oak Hill (8-7).

TELSTAR 3, MONMOUTH 1: Errors proved to be too costly for the Mustangs in their MVC loss to the Rebels.

Paxton Lessard allowed just four hits while striking out eight in six innings, but three errors from Monmouth (9-6) produced Telstar’s (10-4) three runs. Caroline Bonenfant recorded a single and a double in the loss.

RICHMOND 17-12, GREENVILLE 1-5: The Bobcats ran their record to 12-0 in the East/West Conference with a pair of wins over the Lakers (8-4).

Between the two games pitcher Meranda Martin allowed 12 hits and struck out 10, while offensively she had two home runs, one double, three singles and nine RBIs. Cassidy Harriman had a grand slam in the opener and finished with seven RBIs between the two games.

BOYS LACROSSE

MESSALONSKEE 14, EDWARD LITTLE 3: Jose Languet scored four goals to lead the Eagles to a KVAC A win over the Red Eddies in Auburn.

Jordon Holmes added three goals for Messalonskee (9-2). Jake Smith had six saves for the Eagles.

Henry Ngyuen had two goals for Edward Little (4-7).

BASEBALL

WINTHROP 7, MT. ABRAM 2: Ben Allen picked up a pitching win and helped his own cause with two doubles and a single in MVC action in Salem.

Jared Hanson and Mario Meucci each singled twice and drove in runs for the Ramblers (7-6). Mt. Abram is 5-10.

LEWISTON 9, MESSALONSKEE 7: Zach Mathieu hit a three-run home run but it wasn’t enough for the Eagles, who dropped a KVAC A game Thursday in Oakland.

Devin Warren had two doubles for Messalonskee (10-4), while Ben Frazee added a double.

Nick Perreault had two doubles for Lewiston (7-7).

MT. BLUE 11, MT. ARARAT 1: Junior Amos Herrin pitched a no hitter in a KVAC A game called after five innings due to the 10-run mercy rule. Herrin struck out nine and walked two, while the Eagles scored their lone run on a throwing error in the fourth inning.

Cam Abbott doubled, homered and drove in four runs for Mt. Blue (8-7), while teammate Colton Lawrence added a pair of RBIs. Mt. Ararat is 2-12.

WATERVILLE 8, MT. VIEW 0: The Purple Panthers (12-2) turned two key double plays in the third and fifth innings, respectively, to help maintain their lead in a victory over the Mustangs (4-12).

Dan Pooler finished with three hits for Waterville, while Owen Brown and Curran Quinlan notched two each. Jack Axom had a pair of singles for Mt.View.
