LEWISTON — A city man is under arrest after gunfire erupted in Lewiston.
No one was injured in the shooting reported at about 7:30 p.m. Monday, but 23-year-old Brent Verney was arrested on a charge of reckless conduct with a firearm.
Police say it appears as if a single shot was fired into the air during an argument between two men. A single shell casing was recovered from inside an apartment.
Police say a witness gave a description of the suspect and in what direction he was headed and Verney was arrested a short time later in possession of a 9 mm handgun.
Verney remains in jail and it’s not clear if he has a lawyer.
The matter remains under investigation.
