Republicans in House District 80 are scheduled to meet at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Windsor Town Hall to choose a new nominee for the November election.
The newly apportioned district includes Vassalboro, Windsor, Hibberts Gore, Somerville and part of Augusta.
Ray Bates, chairman of the Windsor Republican Committee, said in a statement that Andrew Fowler, of Vassalboro, has withdrawn from the race. Bates, a Windsor selectman, has indicated he will seek the nomination.
The GOP nominee will face Rep. Lori Fowle, D-Vassalboro, in the Nov. 4 election.
The deadline for parties to choose replacement candidates is July 28.
