Moving from the simple to the complex. That is one on the fundamental laws of teaching/learning as I recall.

As the youngest of a very large family, one of the lessons I was taught when buttoning my shirt was, it was necessary/important to start by putting the correct button in the correct hole. The consequence of not doing so was learning that if the first button is not correct, then by the time I got all the way to the bottom, the correct function would be impossible.

Would someone please send this to our leaders in Washington? It seems to me President Obama’s health plan was fundamentally flawed from the beginning. Yes, sort of like starting with the wrong button hole. I’m betting it will end up a failure when they get to the bottom buttonhole.

The reasons are many, including forcing the electorate to swallow an oversized bill, something we needed more time and information on before passing it.

It is a law written by bureaucrats who have no hands-on experience regarding the consequences of their ideological insights and decisions and that affects everyone but themselves. They were allotting monies we cannot afford because of uncontrollable spending practices.

The damages are showing up and it should be said that “good intentions” do not a good law make, for the good of the people.

Now at age 73, I’m very disappointed in our leadership and what I’m seeing take place in the medical community and the future care of our senior citizens.

Will politicians have the integrity to take the time to start with the right buttonhole or will they proceed headstrong and prove their lack of integrity and reveal again just how broken our government can be? Humble yourselves. Start over and do it right.
