Scouts from the Pine Tree Council, Boy Scouts of America, recently worked on their Citizenship in the Nation Merit Badge during a special program at that state capitol building. Twenty Scouts participated in tours, discussions, games and meetings and learned about the legislative and judicial process from attorney and Sen. Roger Katz, R-Augusta. They received tours of the home of former presidential candidate and Secretary of State James G. Blaine and the State House complex and visited the Maine State Library and the various executive branch agencies in the Edmund Muskie Federal Building. They also met Gov. Paul LePage. Scouts from West Gardiner, Windham, New Sharon, Albion, Farmington, Augusta and Industry participated.
