The Farmington Police Department is asking the public to only drop off prescription medication at the department’s collection box and to dispose of other medical supplies, like needles and pet meds, elsewhere. The department does not take needles, liquids, patches, creams, empty containers, non-prescription creams, over the counter medications and pet medications, said Farmington Police Secretary Bonnie Pomeroy.

Pomeroy said dropping off the wrong items takes up storage space in their collection box that would otherwise go to approved prescription drop offs.

Police said anyone with questions can contact the police department at 778-6311.
