CLINTON — The Clinton Lions Club Agricultural Fair is looking for participants for its exhibition hall featuring vegetables, plants, market baskets, arts and crafts, photographs, paintings, cooking and canning. Cash premiums and ribbons will be awarded. Call 426-8013 for further information and a premium book.
Entrants also are being sought for the 61st annual street parade to be held Saturday, Sept. 6, in downtown Clinton. The 2014 theme is “State of Maine — Products, Pleasures and Potpourri.” Cash awards and trophies are awarded for the eight best floats. Any marching unit, float or vehicle is welcome. To enter, call Mark at 859-0737.
The fair runs from Thursday, Sept. 4, through Sunday, Sept. 7. Gate prices are $5 per person. Parking is free, and children under 12 are admitted free. Admission for carload of people costs $14. Senior Citizen Day is on Sept. 6, when those 62 and older are admitted for $3, or $7 per carload, and get a $1 discount on a meal in the Lions Diner.
