I have known Rep. Cathy Nadeau, D-Winslow, for years, and have had the pleasure of sitting next to her in the Maine House of Representatives. She is committed to serving her constituents in District 78 well and supporting legislation that would benefit all residents of Maine.
Nadeau co-sponsored and passed two bills that will make a real difference for our veterans. The first ensured that Iraq and Afghanistan veterans can access a modest property tax exemption that veterans of earlier conflicts already receive. The second provides financial support for court programs that help veterans recover from drug addiction and lead successful lives, and save states money by reducing incarceration costs.
Nadeau talked about the merits of this legislation with both her Republican and Democratic colleagues. She works with everyone, no matter what their political perspective, and gets things done.
