Instead of going to trial last week in a domestic violence case, a Belgrade man pleaded guilty to two charges that will be dismissed if he complies with certain conditions over the next 12 months.
Jurors had been selected to hear the trial in Kennebec County Superior Court where Glen Arthur Carlow Jr., 42, was charged with committing domestic violence assault May 21 in Oakland and with violating conditions of release June 12 in Belgrade.
According to conditions of the deferred disposition, Carlow is prohibited from contact with the victim unless she consents in writing and after a hearing.
Carlow also was ordered to undergo substance abuse evaluation and counseling if indicated.
