As an alumna of the University of Southern Maine, class of 1979, I am appalled at the venue change of the University of Maine System Board of Trustees meeting to Fort Kent and can only view it as an intentional attempt to block USM student and faculty input.

As a Maine taxpayer, I want all concerned parties to have a say in the education of Maine’s most important resource — our children. We are an aging state and need to do everything possible to keep more of our young people in Maine. Cutting programs is not the answer, especially when money is so lavishly spent on administrator salaries.
