Maine State Police arrested a man from the Aroostook County town of Blaine and charged him with possessing child pornography Friday.

Robert D. Kinney Jr., 40, of 30 Robinson Road, was arrested at his home and charged with possession of sexually explicit material of someone under the age of 12, according to a news release by Stephen McCausland, spokesman for the Maine Department of Public Safety.

He was taken to the Aroostook County Jail.

Acting on a tip, police searched Kinney’s electronic devices and say they found photos of infants being sexually molested. None of the images is believed to have been taken in Maine.

Kinney lives at the home with his wife and two children.

Kinney’s computers were seized and will be analyzed.

The arrests were made by personnel from the Computer Crimes Unit.
