Alice Elliott, Democrat from Richmond, is the first candidate for public office who lives outside of my district about whom I have written a letter in the more than 40 years I have followed Maine politics.

The voters in Bowdoin, Bowdoinham and Richmond (District 55) have a unique opportunity to elect a representative who combines the traits we in Maine look for in a citizen legislator.

In the 10 years I have worked with Alice Elliott, I have come to know her as smart and compassionate. She is principled, but understands the need to work collaboratively with others. She generates ideas and listens to those of others.

Alice understands that Maine’s is a citizen legislature. She is a concerned citizen, not a politician; she is a problem-solver. She will work hard for the people in her district and throughout the state and deserves our support.
