AUBURN — Lost Valley Ski & Banquet Resort might not be so lost after all.
The Sun Journal reports the ski slope will open this winter. Owners Lincoln Hayes and Connie King made the announcement on Wednesday. The owners said over the summer that the resort was struggling financially and faced sale or closure.
Hayes and King now say they plan to form a board of directors, close on Mondays and purchase energy-saving equipment. They also say they will cut season ticket prices nearly in half with a hope of selling more.
Community fundraising brought the resort more than $23,000. Hayes says the owners are “taking a leap of faith” that the resort will stay open. Lost Valley first opened in 1961.
