Every fall, Judge Susan W. Longley of Waldo County Probate Court hosts free “Probate Basics” workshops. Longley currently has the following workshops schedule Tuesday, Oct. 7: Burnham Town Hall, 2-4 p.m.; and Mt. View High School, Thorndike, 5-7 p.m.

At these free workshops, Longley explains how such advance directives as a Health Care Power of Attorney, a Financial Power of Attorney, a Last Will and Testament and a trust all can work to insure that one’s wishes and values are honored.

Longley also hands-out free advance directive legal forms for a Health Care Power of Attorney, a Financial Power of Attorney and a Last Will and Testament. She welcomes all who want to learn about organizing one’s legal documents. Longley only asks that attendees understand that she cannot provide individualized legal advice at these group gatherings.
