HINCKLEY – Good Will-Hinckley students and officials were recently joined by leaders from The Bank of Maine to celebrate the completion of a renovation of the school’s basketball, tennis and badminton courts, according to a Good Will-Hinckley press release.

The project included sealing cracks, repaving, repainting, new fencing, new basketball hoops, badminton and tennis nets, and other athletic equipment. It was completed with support from The Bank of Maine, Dr. Kenneth and Shirley Eskelund and the Red Sox Foundation.

“These courts had been unusable for several years,” said Michael Hinckley-Gordon, Director of Campus Life at Good Will-Hinckley, in the release. “As a result of generous support from The Bank of Maine, the Eskelund family and the Red Sox Foundation, our students once again have access to terrific basketball, tennis and badminton facilities. We know exercise is an important part of education and building a healthy, adult lifestyle. This is a terrific day for our students. Thank you to The Bank of Maine for being here today and for your strong support for this project.”

A plague at the new facilities reads “With deepest thanks and appreciation The Bank of Maine, Dr. and Mrs. Kenneth Eskelund, The Red Sox Foundation for their generous contributions to these refurbished tennis courts.” Work on the project was completed by Pavement Plus of Smithfield and ADA Fence Company of Palmyra.
