WATERVILLE — Brittany Premo scored the game-winning goal at 8:32 in the second overtime to propel the Thomas field hockey team over Castleton 4-3 in a North Atlantic Conference game Saturday afternoon.

Gardiner’s Abigail Dunn, Taylor Bergeron and Erin Nelligan also scored for the Terriers (6-9, 3-1 NAC). Mt. View grad Abbie Charrier recorded four saves. Kristi Pinkham scored all three goals for the Spartans (1-12, 1-3).

COLBY 1, HAMILTON 0: Sarah Evans recorded her fifth shutout of the season as Colby edged Hamilton in Waterville.

Evans made five saves to record the shutout. Erin Maguire scored the game-winning goal for the Mules (8-5, 3-5 NESCAC). Victoria Trentini stopped eight shots in the cage for Hamilton (6-7, 2-6).

UMF 6, NEW ENGLAND COLLEGE 0: Mt. Blue graduate Sarita Crandall scored two goals to lead UMaine-Farmington in a rout over New England College in Henniker, N.H.

Patty Smith made one save for the shutout in the Beavers’ cage. Mount View grad Delainey Kein, Carly Raymond, Emily Lewia and Oakland’s Mara Balboni also scored for UMF (7-4, 3-1 NAC).

MAINE MARITIME 2, THOMAS 1: Morgan Libby headed in a cross from Briana Obshatkin to give Maine Maritime the one-goal win over Thomas.

Mary Grace Morris scored for the Terriers (5-10, 2-5 NAC), while Erskine grad Paige Leary made four saves in net. Victoria Cooper scored the other goal for the Mariners (4-9, 2-5), while Kelsie Hilton made one save in net.

HUSSON 2, UMAINE-FARMINGTON 1: Taylor Fortin found Katie Cyr three minutes into overtime to send Husson past UMaine-Farmington.

Leah Hibbad scored the first goal for the Eagles (9-5, 6-1 NAC). Alexandra Crocker tied the game for the Beavers (6-7, 5-2).

Jess Poulin made seven saves in net for Husson while Sam Hatch made nine for Maine-Farmington.

COLBY 1, HAMILTON 0: Kents Hills graduate Janie O’Halloran’s early goal stood up as the Mules blanked Hamilton in Waterville.

Emily Brook made six saves to record the shutout for Colby (5-6-1, 2-5-1 NESCAC). Rachel Colley made one save for Hamilton (8-5, 3-5).

THOMAS 3, MAINE MARITIME 1: Dakota Duplissie, a Maranacook grad, scored two goals to lead Thomas to a key North Atlantic Conference win over Maine Maritime in Waterville.

Tre Ming scored the other goal for the Terriers (7-3-2, 4-1-1). Joakim Sternas collected eight saves in net. Ike Doiron tallied the lone goal for the Mariners (7-6-1, 4-2-1). Zachary Elwell stopped three shots for MMA.

HUSSON 4, UMF 1: Stephen Berenyi tallied two goals to lead Husson to victory over UMaine-Farmington in a NAC clash in Farmington.

Dylan Wetmore and Saker Ghanayem also scored for Husson. Ronie Morales made 10 saves for UMF.

COLBY 0, HAMILTON 0: Colby and Hamilton entered the day with identical records and ended it with a scoreless tie.

It was the second consecutive 0-0 tie for Colby (5-5-2, 1-5-2 NESCAC). Peter Quayle made two saves for the Mules. Harris Pollack stopped six shots for Hamilton (5-5-2, 1-5-2).

WOMEN’S ICE HOCKEY

QUINNIPIAC 1, MAINE 0: Meaghann Treacy’s 41 saves weren’t enough to spare Maine a shutout loss in Hampden, Ct.

Taylar Cianfarano’s goal at 5:02 of the third period was the difference for Quinnipiac (4-0-1), which outshot Maine, 43-7. Chelsea Laden recorded the shutout with seven saves. Maine falls to 2-4-1.

PORTSMOUTH, N.H. — Zac Storro (73) and Shelby Wheeler (74) helped lead the New Hampshire Technical Institute to the Yankee Small Conference championship Saturday at the par-71 Pease Golf Club.

NHTI shot a combined 306 to hold off Eastern Maine Community College (329) and the University of Maine-Augusta (348).

Jacob Roddy, of Belgrade, had the low round for the Moose with a 6-over-par 77, while Winthrop’s Keith Ross shot an 85.
