AUGUSTA — Soldiers, veterans and supporters will participate in the 15th annual Veterans Day Road March, a 7.5 mile road march, beginning at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, at the Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial in Capital Park.

Designated soldiers and veterans will carry Summit Project stones, each representing a Maine Fallen Hero in the global war on terror. The road march will travel to the VA Maine Healthcare System at Togus, where marchers will participate in a wreath laying ceremony and a dedication of the Summit Project mobile display case, built by Maine veterans.

All veterans and supporters are invited to march in this event, in military uniform or civilian clothing. Participants are encouraged to march any portion of the route, ride along or to participate in the memorial service at 8:30 a.m. Vehicles will provide opportunity for respite and refreshments will be offered during the march.
