Although it doesn’t seem that long ago, I first met Sen. Roger Katz, R-Augusta, as a teammate on the Senator Inn basketball team in the Augusta YMCA men’s league 30 years ago. He was the perfect teammate who distributed the ball so the best possible shot could be taken. We went on to win a lot of games and a number of league championships because of his kind of exemplary teamwork.
Having watched his public service in the Maine State Senate, it’s no surprise that Roger has continued to help everyone get to the best possible result. His interest in getting to the right answer trumps partisanship, which is what I think most people want from their legislators.
My wife, Jenny, and I plan to support Roger Katz for state Senate District 15 again on Nov. 4.
