I hope enough voters will remember what happened the last time we elected a former Democrat congressman to the governor’s office.

The budget increased greatly because of welfare spending and expansion of the state government. The debt reached a new high.

Fortunately, a businessman, Paul LePage, came along and reversed a lot of the damage done by this liberal ex-congressman who was used to spending in the billions. Now debts have been paid and the state’s fiscal house is in better order.

I hope this mistake will not be repeated and LePage can continue to run the state in a fiscally sound manner, not as a political arena where taxpayer money is used to buy votes.
