WATERVILLE — Fred Randall scored late in the second half to help lift the Colby men’s soccer team past Bowdoin 1-0 in a New England Small College Athletic Conference game Saturday afternoon.

Keith Chernin and Andrew Woonton assisted on the goal.

Peter Quayle needed to make just two saves to earn the shutout for Colby (6-5-3, 2-5-2).

Bowdoin dropped to 8-6-0, 4-5-0.

NEW ENGLAND COLLEGE 2, UMF 1: Austin Dooley gave the Beavers a 1-0 lead early in the first half, but New England College surged ahead to grab the North Atlantic Conference victory in Farmington.

Sebastian Anderson tied the game before Ronsard Masamba scored the game-winner with about 15 minutes left in regulation.

Yusuf Yama had an assist for UMF (1-14-1).

NEC improved to 10-5-1.

COLBY-SAWYER 1, THOMAS 1: London Steede-Jackson scored his fifth goal of the season as the Terriers settled for a critical NAC tie in Waterville. Joakim Sternas made two saves for Thomas (8-3-3, 5-1-2). Andrew Clothier tied the game for Colby-Sawyer (10-4-2, 6-1-1). Nick Austin finished with nine saves.

FIELD HOCKEY

 

BOWDOIN 4, COLBY 1: Juliana Fiore scored two goals and Rachel Kennedy added a goal and an assist to lead the Polar Bears to the NESCAC victory in Waterville.

Adrienne O’Donnell also scored for Bowdoin (13-1, 8-1).

McKayla Blanch scored the lone goal for the Mules (8-6, 3-6). Sarah Evans had 17 saves.

THOMAS 2, UMF 0: Taylor Bergeron and Erica Blake each scored to lift the Terriers to the NAC victory in Waterville.

Brooklyn Curry and Brittany Premo each had assists for Thomas (7-9, 4-1).

Patricia Smith had eight saves for the Beavers (7-6, 3-2).

ALBANY 3, MAINE 0: Paula Heuser scored two goals and Laura Page scored a goal and added two assists as Albany (14-2, 4-0) rolled to the America East victory in Albany, N.Y.

Emma Cochran and Emily Corbet combined to make four saves for the Black Bears (10-7, 3-1).

WOMEN’S SOCCER

 

BOWDOIN 3, COLBY 0: Midfielder Maggie Godley scored two goals and Eliza Nitzan added another to lead the Polar Bears to the NESCAC victory in Waterville.

Jamie Hofstetter had two assists for Bowdoin (10-3-0, 7-2-0) while Bridget McCarthy had six saves.

Emily Brook had 11 saves for Colby (6-7-1, 2-6-1).

NEW ENGLAND COLLEGE 0, UMF 0: Sam Hatch stopped all 11 shots she faced as the Beavers played to a scoreless draw in a NAC game in Farmington.

The Terriers moved to 8-7-1.

Tricia Sardagnola had seven saves for NEC (10-5-3).

COLBY-SAWYER 3, THOMAS 1: Colby-Sawyer broke open a close game with two second-half goals to pull away from Thomas in a NAC game in Waterville.

Heather Carroll and Paige Prokop scored in the second half to give Colby-Sawyer a 3-0 lead. Rachel Quaye scored in the first half or Colby-Sawyer (10-5-1, 8-0-0).

Kajsa Kaufeldt scored the lone goal for Thomas (5-11-0, 2-6-0).

WOMEN’S HOCKEY

 

MAINE 4, BOSTON UNIVERSITY 2: Audra Richards scored two goals and Morgan Sakundlak added three assists as the Black Bears doubled up the Terriers at the Alfond Arena in Orono.

Emilie Brigham and Kelsey MacSorley also scored for Maine (3-5-1).

Rebecca Russo and Sarah Bayersdorfer scored for BU (4-2-0).
