AUGUSTA —The third annual Save Your Breath event will be held at 8 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, at Kennebec Valley YMCA, 31 Union St.

There will be snacks and vendor tables, including an interactive radon information table, foot reflexologist Claire Guy, sound healing with Brenda Colfer, guitarist Alex Farkas, nutritionist Donna Walsh, children’s activities with Carrie Arsenault of the Children’s Discovery Museum and more.

The ceremony will kick off the event at 8:45 a.m., featuring acting Mayor Mark O’Brien as emcee. Councilman Cecil Munson will read the city’s proclamation and lung cancer survivor Normand Dubreuil will share his story. A doctor from the Harold Alfond Center for Cancer Care will speak on early detection.

A 5K fun run and walk will follow at Capitol Park.

Registration costs $25 and is half-price for children younger than 13. For more information, call Deb Violette at 215-9035.
