Sen. Colleen Lachowicz, D-Waterville, is exactly the kind of person I hope to find in the State House.

She is not in politics to further her career or to be a lifelong elected official. She got involved to fix what was broken. She is someone who is equally passionate about children and poverty and sees the big picture.

Before she was my friend, she was my senator. I first met her as a constituent during her weekend hours. We talked for two hours about my issue, which was to require recess and not take it away from kids as punishment. I felt heard and respected. I left knowing we were on the same page, and she would do what she could.

These reasons and many more, are why Colleen Lachowicz can count on my vote. A vote for Colleen is a vote for people and improving their quality of life.
