The race for House District 76 is between two kinds of experience.

Dick Tracy, a Democrat from Rome, is a worker and a former legislator. He knows what it is to support his family on a salary. He also knows what it is to sponsor and consider complex legislation, and represent his constituents’ interests. He knows what public service is about.

His Republican opponent comes recommended as a businessman, a “job creator.”

We’ve heard this song before. Our incumbent governor did well running a department store. In office, he has been divisive and ideological, a man insensitive to the needs of workers and those less well off. Do we need more of this?

Running a business is one thing; making our laws is another. Dick Tracy has legislated; the Republican has not.

On Nov. 4, vote for Dick Tracy — one of our own, with the credentials to do the job.
