AUGUSTA — An overnight snowstorm delayed the start by half an hour but couldn’t stop the annual Gasping Gobbler 5k run on Thursday morning at Cony High School in Augusta.
There were 173 finishers in the annual fund raiser that benefits the Cony All Sports Boosters.
Andrew Reifman-Packett, of Harpswell, was the first male finisher in 16:40 and Cecilia Morin, of Waterville was the first female finisher in 20:55.
They both won a Thanksgiving dinner consisting of a frozen turkey, a pie and a package of dinner rolls along with a trophy with a turkey on top.
Age group winners got a turkey, second place got a pie and the rolls went to third place.
Shawn Totman said that organizers would deliver any food prizes winners didn’t want to the Bread of Life soup kitchen and donate them.
