FAIRFIELD — Kennebec Valley Community College will hold a public open house for its Precision Machining Technology Lab Wednesday, Dec. 3, following major bond and grant-funded improvements and equipment upgrades to the facility during the past year.

The open house will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the lab in the Muriel Frye Building at the Fairfield campus at 92 Western Ave., according to a news release from the college. The event is free and open to the public, and will provide an opportunity for anyone interested in the Precision Machining Technology program to learn more.

The improvements in the lab have been funded by monies included in a jobs bond approved by Maine voters in November 2013 and by a State of Maine Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) awarded to the Town of Fairfield through the Workforce Development Program.

The public open house will follow a grand reopening and ribbon cutting event earlier in the evening.
