GARDINER — Brandon Douglas scored a game-high 17 points to lead the Gardiner Area High School boys basketball team to a 64-42 Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference B win over Camden Hills Saturday.

Brian Dunn added seven points, six rebounds and six steals for Gardiner (6-1) while Alex LaPointe chipped in six points and eight rebounds. Seth McFarland (16 points, eight rebounds, three assists) and Brad Weston (12 points, 11 rebounds) also had big games for the Tigers.

Camden Hills (2-5) was led by Devon Vangel with 14 points and Josiah Krull with 13.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

MARANACOOK 46, LINCOLN 41: Christine Miller filled the stat sheet with six points, eight assists and seven rebounds to lead the Black Bears to the KVAC B win in Readfield.

Catherine Sanborn led all scorers with 14 points for Maranacook (6-1) while Sarah Clough and Sage Hyland scored eight points apiece.

Lincoln (5-2) was led by Brie Wajer and Avae Traina with 10 points each.

CAMDEN HILLS 52, GARDINER 48: Charlotte Messer and Maddie Bowman each scored 16 points to lead the Windjammers to the KVAC B win at home.

Hannah Winkelhofer added 12 points for Camden Hills (6-1).

For Gardiner (3-4), Lauren Chadwick had 20 points and four steals while Morgan Carver added 16 points and five assists.

OXFORD HILLS 48, CONY 25: Anna Winslow poured in 19 points as the Vikings pulled away in the second quarter on their way to a win over the Rams at the Augusta Civic Center.

Oxford Hills (5-2) led just 11-9 after one quarter before outscoring Cony, 18-2, in the second quarter.

Mikayla Morin added 15 points for the Vikings, who held their opponent to 25 points or less for the third straight game.

Cate Silva led Cony (1-7) with 11 points.

BOYS HOCKEY

LAWRENCE/SKOWHEGAN 10, POLAND/GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER/OAK HILL 2: Cody Martin scored four goals and assisted on two more as the Bandits (1-3-1) picked up their first win of the season at the Norway Savings Bank Arena in Auburn.

Andrew Carpenter also had a strong game for the Bandits with a goal and four assists, while Trey Michonski notched a pair of scores.

Ethan Caillier had both goals for the 26ers (2-3-0).

MESSALONSKEE 8, HAMPDEN 0: Jared Cunningham netted four goals and three assists, including a natural hat trick, as Messalonskee rolled past Hampden at Sukee Arena.

Jake Dexter also had a hat trick to go with two assists for the Eagles (5-1). Brandon Nale scored the other goal and also had four assists. Elija Tuell made 18 saves to record the shutout for Messalonskee. Cole Benner (22 saves) and Joe Kokic (17 saves) split time in net for Hampden (0-5).
