GARDINER — Savannah Vinton-Mullens scored 16 points and the Gardiner girls basketball team held off Winslow late to earn a 49-44 victory in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference game Friday night.

The Black Raiders managed to erase a double-digite deficit and get with two points with less than 90 seconds remaining, but it was not enough as the Tigers made enough free throws down the stretch to hold on.

Vinton-Mullens also had six rebounds and four steals for the Tigers (6-8), while Mary Toman had nine points, 11 rebounds and three blocks.

Devin Fitzgibbons knocked down a trio of 3-pointers on her way to a game-high 17 points for Winslow (8-6) while Heather Kervin chipped in with 10 points.

OXFORD HILLS 50, CONY 22: The Vikings held the Rams to five points in the first half to pull away in South Paris.

Anna Winslow and McKayla Morin scored 15 points apiece to pace Oxford Hills (11-3)

Kate Silva led Cony (1-13) with seven points.

MESSALONSKEE 52, SKOWHEGAN 35: Taylor Easler scored 13 points to lead the Eagles to the KVAC A win in Oakland.

Ally Turner scored 12 points and had four assists for the Eagles. Kelsey Dillon and Halee Flewelling each scored 12 points for Messalonskee (7-8). McKenna Brodeur grabbed 10 rebounds for the Eagles.

Tracey Swanson led Skowhegan (2-13) with 14 points.

BOYS BASKETBALL

OXFORD HILLS 64, CONY 58 (OT): Ben Leet’s 3-pointer at the end of regulation just rimmed out and the Rams were held scoreless in overtime as the Vikings secured a KVAC A win in South Paris.

Andrew Fleming — who finished with 22 points and 17 rebounds — scored with four seconds remaining in regulation to force the extra period for Oxford Hills (9-6).

Liam Stokes led Cony (9-6) with 23 points and 17 rebounds, while T.J. Cusick finished with 14 points.

MEDOMAK 53, ERSKINE 25: Nick DePatsy scored a game-high 22 points and the Panthers jumped out to a 32-5 lead and never looked back. Zach Star scored five points for the Panthers (11-2).

Austin Johnson scored 10 points to pace the Eagles (0-13).

MARANACOOK 82, WATERVILLE 40: The Black Bears drained 13 3-pointers and held a 56-17 lead at halftime en route to a win in Waterville.

Kent Mohlar led the way for Maranacook (4-10) with 23 points, Levi Emery poured in 15 and both Kyle Wilbur and Cam Brochu finished with 12.

Corey Huerfano was the lone Waterville (2-12) player in double figures with 10 points.

MESSALONSKEE 59, SKOWHEGAN 34: Nick Mayo scored 36 points to lead the Eagles in Skowhegan.

Nate Violette added eight points for Messalonskee (11-4), which won its eighth game in a row.

Isaac Witham scored 11 points for Skowhegan (4-10).

HALL-DALE 45, LISBON 40: A strong four quarter allowed the Bulldogs to secure a Mountain Valley Conference win over the Greyhounds.

Brian Allen scored seven of his 16 points in the fourth to lead the charge, while Wesley LaPointe added 10. Hall-Dale (10-4) finished the game 20-for-40 from the foul line.

Johnny Yim paced Lisbon (3-11) with 16 points in the loss and Jonah Sawtter chipped in with 12.

WINTHROP 78, WISCASSET 57: Dakota Carter led three Ramblers in double figures in a win over the Wolverines in Wiscasset.

Matt Sekerak and Jacob Hickey finished with 12 and 10 points, respectively, for Winthrop.

Kevin Lynch and Brandon Sprague paced Wiscasset with 14 points apeice.

MONMOUTH 63, OAK HILL 38: The Mustangs raced out to a 29-8 lead by halftime and never looked back in an MVC win over the Raiders.

Luke Thombs had a game-high 19 points for Monmouth (8-6) and Avery Amero added nine points.

Dalton Therrien was the lone Oak Hill (3-11) player in double figures with 11 points.
