AUGUSTA — Two men were sentenced this week in separate hearings in Kennebec County Superior Court.

Zackari Angelo Whittier, 33, of Sidney and Belgrade, pleaded guilty to unlawful possession of heroin which occurred Feb. 11, 2014, in Sidney. He also agreed to the criminal forfeiture of $757 in cash that he had with him at that time.

Whittier also pleaded guilty to operating under the influence Jan. 5, 2014, in Waterville. He was sentenced to two years in jail, all suspended, and two years’ probation. He was fined a total of $900 and his driver’s license was suspended for 150 days.

At a separate hearing on Wednesday in the same court, Kevin Fontnette, 53, of Bangor and formerly of Skowhegan, pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of domestic violence assault which occurred Oct. 15, 2013, in Augusta.

He was sentenced to 364 days in jail, all suspended, and one year of probation.
