A man robbed the Rite Aid pharmacy in Gardiner just after 2 p.m. Wednesday, police said.

The man fled on foot from the store’s parking lot along Spring Street after demanding narcotics, said Sgt. Todd Pilsbury, of the Gardiner Police Department.

Police said they are looking for a white man who is about 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing 160 pounds and wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt who may have left the area in a green Pontiac Sunfire heading toward West Gardiner. Pilsbury said Maine State Police are assisting his department in the search.

It’s the first robbery at the Gardiner pharmacy since August, when police nabbed a suspect after searching the woods along Harrison Avenue on the day of the robbery. Jesse Mansir, 31, of Randolph, pleaded guilty to the robbery in federal court in October. A teenager was charged in a separate 2012 robbery at the pharmacy.
