ROCKPORT — A Maine event that bills itself as the largest marine trade show north of Boston is opening this coming week in Rockport.

The Maine Fishermen’s Forum will take place Thursday, Friday and Saturday at the Samoset Resort in Rockport.

The show – now in its 40th year – is a trade show for the people who make a living in Maine’s seafood business. Seminars on tap for the event include composting seafood product waste, promoting “Maine brand seafood,” the status of Atlantic herring and the electronic monitoring of ground fish vessels.

The event also includes a banquet dinner and dance, where the signature dish is teriyaki flank steak with cilantro lime-glazed salmon.
