I would like to thank all those who supported my last letter to the editor (Jan. 30, “Increased taxes won’t matter to the rich, just the rest,”).
Paul LePage is still trying to take away our homes. He lies when he says his plan will work. The increase in sales tax and property tax will send many into homeless situations.
The wealthy will get a raise; the elderly will get evicted. The increase in sales tax will prohibit many from buying any thing of value, such as new vehicles, or new anything. It’s another way of making the middle class pay to become poor and the retired to become homeless.
LePage’s proposal is another Republican ploy to kill the unions, the wages and increase welfare to create jobs. It’s time to realize the governor is wrong.
