Brunswick police released a sketch Thursday of a man who is suspected of trying to lure an 11-year-old girl into his car and, in a separate incident, exposing himself to two girls.

The suspect was described by the girls as a white man with a long, blond goatee and curly blond hair, said Mark Waltz, commander of support services for Brunswick police. He has rings in both ears and was wearing a baseball cap. At the time of the incidents, Wednesday afternoon, the man was driving a silver or white car. The make and model of the car are unknown.

Police say the man tried to lure the 11-year-old girl into his car around 1:30 p.m. while she was walking her dog on Spring Street, near the Harriet Beecher Stowe School. The girl refused to go near the man and walked home.

About two hours later, police believe the same man approached an 11-year-old and 10-year-old girl near Hambleton Park on Harpswell Road and exposed himself to the girls.

Detective Sgt. Dan Reed of the Sagadahoc County Sheriff’s Office interviewed two of the witnesses and developed a composite sketch of the man, which was released Thursday afternoon by Brunswick police. Police are urging anyone who may recognize the man to contact them at 725-5521.
