A local church is giving away free prom dresses on April 11.
Tabitha’s Closet, a free clothing ministry at the Winthrop United Methodist Church, is hosting the event from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 58 Main St.
More than 250 new and gently used dresses and gowns in a wide variety of sizes, styles, lengths and colors will be available, according to a press release from the chruch.
Jewelry and other accessories will also be available, and there will be dressing rooms.
Young women from all communities are invited to the giveaway and all items are free.
