SKOWHEGAN — A Skowhegan man is being held without bail following his arrest Wednesday on nine outstanding warrants for unpaid fines and restitution dating back as far as 2006.
David N. Doucette, 29, with a most recent address of Indian Ridge Apartments, is being held on a probation hold for the warrants and on a probation revocation, according to court records. He owes as much as $2,000 or more on orders to pay fines, fees and restitution as far back as a felony burglary conviction from 2006. Included in the warrants are unpaid fines for felony theft in 2013 and felony possession of drugs the same year.
There also are warrants for unpaid fines on a violation of conditions of release, two more drug possession convictions and two assault charges from 2006.
Skowhegan Police Chief Ted Blais said the warrants were assembled by the probation office, and Doucette was arrested when he showed up for a scheduled meeting with a probation officer.
Doucette still owes $1,774 and faces six months in jail for defying a court motion to enforce restitution from the 2006 burglary. He was sentenced on the charge in February 2007 to four years in the state prison with all but 30 days suspended and two years of probation, plus restitution, according to court documents.
He has yet to appear in court on the warrants.
