AUBURN — Mt. Blue plated all three of its runs in the top of the third to score a 3-2 win over Edward Little.

Amos Herrin went the distance to pick up the win for Mt. Blue (1-1), while Jarod Plourde-Norcross took the loss for Edward Little (1-1).

WINSLOW 12, MCI 2 (5 innings): Dylan Hapworth hit a three-run home run to deep center field in the first inning and the Raiders cruised to the Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class B victory in Winslow.

Jonathan Nerney went 3-for-4 with four RBI for Winslow (2-0) as well.

MCI (0-1) scored two unearned runs in the third inning.

WATERVILLE 10, NOKOMIS 6: Cody Pellerin had three hits, including a double, to lead the Purple Panthers to a KVAC B win over the Warriors in Waterville.

A.J. Godin went the distance to pick up the win on the mound for Waterville (1-1).

Jacob Nichols had three hits for Nokomis (0-1), including a double. Randy Upton and Noah Kershner each had two hits.

SOFTBALL

MESSALONSKEE 13, LAWRENCE 2: Kristy Prelgovisk hit two doubles and a home run to help the Eagles take the KVAC A win in Fairfield.

Messalonskee (2-0) pounded out 17 hits. MollyAn Killingbeck had two singles and a home run. Dakota Bragg, Kirsten Pelletier, Madisyn Charest and Hannah Duperry also had multiple hits for the Eagles. Pelletier struck out nine in the win.

Lawrence is 0-1.

WINSLOW 24, MCI 0 (5 innings): Hillary Libby and Jenna Petrovic combined on a no-hitter as the Black Raiders blanked the Huskies in Winslow.

Libby struck out six over three innings, while Petrovic went the final two innings and struck out two. Petrovic homered, doubled, singled twice and scored five runs for Winslow (2-0). Brooke Haskell drove in four runs on two doubles and a single. Hayley Pottle singled and homered, and Alexa Petrovic rapped two doubles.

MCI is 0-1.

MOUNT VIEW 11, MEDOMAK VALLEY 3: Krysta Porter and Ryleigh Lord each had three hits for the Mustangs in their win over the Panthers in Waldoboro.

Porter singled three times and drove in three runs, while Lord singled, doubled and tripled. Dinah Bioldeau threw a four-hitter for Mount View (1-0).

Medomak Valley dropped to 1-1 with the loss.

EDWARD LITTLE 7, MT. BLUE 5: The Red Eddies jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning and never trailed in a win over the Cougars in Auburn.

Taylor Depot, Emily Lashua and Hannah Smith each had two hits for Edward Little (2-0). Kasadie Barker had a pair of hits for Mt. Blue (1-1).

MADISON 21, CARRABEC 6 (5 innings): Aly LeBlanc had two hits and three RBI and Tori McLaughlin also drove in three runs to lead the Bulldogs to the Mountain Valley Conference victory in the season opener for both teams.

Erin Whalen pitched a complete game, striking out 10 and allowing four hits, to earn the victory. Kayla Bess had three hits, including a triple, for Madison. Losing pitcher Mickayla Willette had two RBI for the Cobras (0-1).
