SOUTH CHINA — Trevor Brown scored three goals and Max Pacholski added a pair to help the Erskine boys lacrosse team win its game as a varsity program, an 8-5 decision over Mt. Blue on Wednesday afternoon.

Grayson Petty, Tyler Rollins and Rusty Sugg also scored for Erskine (1-1), which earned its first varsity victory. Caleb Tyler had a pair of assists as well. Jake Church had 13 saves for Erskine as well.

Connor Roulliard had two goals for the Cougars (0-4).

MESSALONSKEE 17, CONY 4: Jack Bernatchez scored four goals and Dylan Jones added three to lead the Eagles to the KVAC A victory in Oakland.

Sawyer Michaud, Austin Pelletier and Alden Balbone each scored two goals for the Eagles (2-1) as well. Balbone also had two assists.

Chad Bickford had a goal and an assist for the Rams (1-2).

SOFTBALL

WINSLOW 18, MARANACOOK 3, 5 innings: Winslow s pulled away with an 11-run uprising in the third inning to sink Maranacook in a game that was shortened to five innings because of the 10-run rule.

The Black Raiders (4-0) pounded out nine extra base hits. Hayley Pottle led the 18-hit attack with three singles, a triple, two RBI and two runs scored. Sarah Guimond drove in four runs with two singles and a double. She also scored twice. Amber Ridlon led the Black Bears (2-2) with a single and drove in two runs.

MADISON 19, WINTHROP 0, 5 innings: Eight different players had hits for the Bulldogs in Madison.

Madeline Wood and Whitney Bess each drove in four runs for Madison (3-0). Aishah Malloy added three hits and scored four runs, while Tori McLaughlin and Kayla Bess each scored three runs. Wood and Whitney Bess combined on a two-hit shutout for Madison.

For Winthrop (0-2), Kaleigh Oberg and Ashleigh Dunham each singled.

SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 9, WATERVILLE 1: Grace Ryan doubled and Patti Ryan had two hits as Spruce Mountain rolled in Waterville. Michaela DeVogt had two singles to lead Waterville.

HALL-DALE 7, CARRABEC 2: Morgan Rush and Jill Whynot each had two singles to lead the Bulldogs to a Mountain Valley Conference win in North Anson.

Olivia Maynard earned the win in the circle for the Hall-Dale (3-0). Bailey Dunphy had three singles for Carrabec (1-2).

OCEANSIDE 4, ERSKINE 3: Oceanside had just two hits, but they were enough to beat Erskine in a close Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class B contest.

Taylor McLaggan had two hits, including a triple, and Avery Bond hit a pair of singles for the Eagles (2-1).

SKOWHEGAN 7, MT. ARARAT 3: The Indians scored five runs with two out in the bottom of the fifth inning and went on to the win in Skowhegan.

Wylie Bedard singled twice and tripled for Skowhegan (3-0). Eliza Bedard, Julia Steeves and Montana Soucier each added two hits. Winning pitcher Ashley Alward allowed four hits and struck out 10.

Kate Guerin had two hits for Mt. Ararat (2-2).

LEAVITT 11, MCI 1: Madison Green had two triples and the Hornets erupted for seven runs in the fifth inning to break open a close game in Pittsfield.

Abigail Robertson earned the victory, allowing five hits and one run, for the Hornets (3-1).

MCI dropped to 0-3.

OAK HILL 26, WISCASSET 0, 5 innings: Sadie Goulet had a triple and drove in five runs to lead the Raiders to the Mountain Valley Conference victory in Wales.

Grace Sabine had a triple to go along with two singles for Oak Hill (1-2) as well.

Kayla Veilleux chipped in with a pair of hits as well.

Wiscasset dropped to 0-3.

TELSTAR 2, MONMOUTH 0: Olivia York pitched a five-hitter with one walk and 10 strikeouts as the Rebels edged the Mustangs in Bethel.

Sadie Ellsworth singled twice for Telstar (2-0), which scored both its runs in the bottom of the first inning.

In the six, Monmouth had runners on second and third with two out. Hannah Anderson hit a sharp liner headed for right field, but Telstar second baseman Anne Cushman made a nice play for the out.

For Monmouth (1-2), pitchers Katie Fanning and Emily Chasse combined to allow three hits and strike out 10.

BASEBALL

OAK HILL 5, WISCASSET 4: Dalton Therrien plated Matt Clifford with the winning run in the bottom of the seventh on a walk-off single to lift the Raiders to the MVC victory in Wales. The Raiders (1-2) trailed 4-0 before they tied the game with a four-run sixth. Therrien tripled in that inning to highlight the comeback. Connor Nilsson had three singles and Kaleb Morrissette had two hits as well.

Wiscasset dropped to 0-2.

KENTS HILL 3, GOULD 0: Riley Boivin pitched a no-hitter and also hit a two-run home run to lead the host Huskies. Boivin struck out 10 and walked just one. He also hit a batter. He recorded eight ground ball outs and ended five of seven innings with a strikeout.

Boivin hit his homer in the fifth inning for Kents Hill (2-3).

SKOWHEGAN 5, MT. ARARAT 0: Michael Berry’s two-run double broke open the game, and lifted the Indians to the KVAC A win in Skowhegan.

Will Stinson had two hits, drove in a run and scored twice for Skowhegan (1-2). Kyle Dugas had three hits and scored twice for Skowhegan.

Dylan Johnson doubled for Mt. Ararat (0-4).

MT. BLUE 6, LAWRENCE 5: All of Colton Lawrence’s three hits were doubles for the Cougars in a KVAC A win over the Bulldogs in Fairfield.

Ethan Andrews added two singles for Mt. Blue (3-1). Evan Roberts earned the win on the mound for the Cougars.

Devon Webb had two singles for Lawrence (2-2).

GARDINER 6, NOKOMIS 1: Nic Berube tossed a complete game two-hitter to lead host Gardiner.

The Tigers broke a 1-1 tie with a five-run sixth inning. Ryan Kelley stole home and Devon Maschino hit a double during the rally. Hunter Chasse belted two singles for the Tigers (3-1).

WINTHROP 6, MADISON 4: Ben Caprara had four hits and drove in a pair of runs to lead the Ramblers to the MVC win in Madison.

Dakota Carter and Matt Sekerak each had two hits for Winthrop (2-0). Ben Allen threw a complete game for the win, walking two and striking out two.

Chase Malloy and Jack Money each had two hits for Madison (2-1).

CARRABEC 4, HALL-DALE 1: Dillon Willette hit two singles to pace the Cobras in an MVC game in North Anson.

Dustin Crawford pitched five innings for the win, striking out seven and walking one. Quinn Stebbins had three hits for Hall-Dale. Both teams are 2-1.

WATERVILLE 7, SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 4: Dalton Wood hit a pair of doubles and earned the win as the Panthers beat the Phoenix in KVAC B play in Waterville.

Ben Cox and Chay Phelps each had two hits for Waterville (2-2). Sebastian Lombardi double for Spruce Mountain (2-2).
