HINCKLEY — Kennebec Valley Community College will hold an Admit in a Day event, Friday, May 8, will give potential students a one-stop option for enrolling in classes for the summer or fall 2015 semesters. The event will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. in the Averill Building on the Harold Alfond Campus, 15 Stanley Road, Hinckley.

Those interested in attending the event should plan to arrive by 2 p.m. They will need to bring an official, sealed copy of their high school transcript, immunization records and 2014 federal tax forms and W-2 forms. Students with previous college credits should also bring a sealed copy of their college transcript(s) for review, according to a news release from the college.

The event is free and open to the public and the application and placement test fees will be waived for those attending.

Prospective students will be guided by professional advisors as they take placement tests, fill out applications, apply for financial aid, and are reviewed for admission in a four-hour period.

KVCC offers numerous summer courses each year ideal for those seeking to get a jump on fall, make up credits, or earn credits that transfer to other colleges and universities.

KVCC is offering new programs this fall including Design-Build (Timber-Frame) construction, Welding, Computer Systems Integration, Culinary Arts, Sustainable Agriculture, and evening Electrical Technology and Medical Assisting program options, according to the release.

KVCC also boasts new facilities including an updated Precision Machining Technology Lab, a Sustainable Agriculture Building, a Culinary Arts Kitchen and Demonstration Kitchen, a full Macintosh Lab, and a Learning Commons. Each facility features new technology and state-of-the-art equipment.

Registration for both summer and fall classes is now open. The summer semester begins May 18. The fall semester begins Sept. 8.
